I hear this a lot that Warsaw is too "Americanized" now and it's not true Poland, can you speak any info to this?
Warsaw does not seem to be Americanized from my point-of-view. I would say that it is the financial center of Poland. It was delomished in ww2 and has been re-built. It does have an extensive background and history and worth a visit for 2-3 days max. If you consider McDonalds KFC and Burger King an Americanized style then you'll find that in any large city of poland. Other than that, I think you'll enjoy Warsaw, their old towne, castle, and if you're into outdoor shopping or having a coffee/beer in a garden then Nowy Swiat is a great street to do that. The public transportation is also plus in the city.
Funny, and yet kind of weird. If I go to Poland, I want to see Krakow.
Yeah I hear that! I just saw Katyn and it was a very good movie which was shot in Krakow. It was best foreign film of 08 or 09. Krakow looks very nice, I have a travel book about Poland and I would love to see that city, plus you have the mountains near by.

I read travel books about different places, Poland included. I read about Katyn. I don't see many foreign films. There is a Polish music video to check out: YouTube - Grzegorz z Ciechowa - Piejo kury piejo

Ha ha, Poland in general is "too Americanized"! Good for you, mostly everyone speaks/understands english. So having said that, you must stay in Krakow Warszawa vs Krakow, it is a sort of East coast vs West coast mentality. We make fun of each other a lot, BUT the fact is that Krakow represents the true soul of Poland. And don't worry, you won't miss anything by not going to Warsaw. The castle in Krakow is so spectacular, you will see some not too old communist architecture as well, Rynek square is one of the biggest and most interesting in Europe, you can visit the largest Jewish section called Kazimierz in Krakow, the Jaggielonian University, it is so beautiful there. All is superb in Krakow. Ah, enjoy your stay!!!
