The map appears to label the province of Ontario, Canada as a "French" area, which I find puzzling.

that's amazing . but I don't think for example Nevada have Anglo Culture . lots of southern stats has hispanic culture .

No it doesn't - just a tiny strip of it in the east near the border with Quebec.
