How many languages do you speak?
Hey!
How many languages do y'all speak? It doesn't have to be perfectly, but it cannot be only few sentences.
I speak three languages - Czech, English, and German. I'm preparing to learn either Dutch or French.
Have a great weekend,
Jay

Of course there are people who can read languages well that they cannot speak. And I'm not thinking of "dead languages," such as Latin. For example, foreigners who can speak and read Portuguese with adequate fluency can also get by reading Spanish but often cannot speak it or understand it well at all.

I speak Norwegian fluently, and I can read and understand English perfectly, and write and talk pretty well, but far from perfectly.
I can understand and read Swedish and Danish perfectly, but I can't SPEAK them.
And I can read and write a lot of Spanish because I live here, but I have a hard time understanding it when they talk because they talk too fast! And I'm currently learning Italian.

Galician (my mother tongue), Spanish (native), Portuguese, Catalan and English (very fluently), French and Italian (rather well, though I understand better than I speak) and I'm currently learning Norwegian. Oh, I studied German in college but I can scarcely remember anything

The accent some Spanish people have may not be helping either. Some of them take more time than others to get used to! Where in Spain do you live? I live in Galicia.

That's true! I live in las islas canarias though, the way they generally speak here is pretty simple and straight forward. There are some south american accents here and there that are hard to get used to though. But I think the way they talk in Madrid is a lot harder to understand!
Are you from Spain, or do you just live there?
