Question Area around Porte de Saint Ouen Metro, Paris

My wife are I are visiting Paris for 3 days in October. We are staying at a hotel on Rue Fontaine (Saint Ouen), close to Porte de Saint Ouen metro station. We are going by metro to the Lourve on a Wed evening and will be returning around 10pm. It is about .5 miles from metro to hotel.
- Is the metro safe to Porte de Saint Ouen?
- What about the area between the metro station on the hotel, would it be safe to walk back to the hotel around 10 or 11pm?
- Would it be better to go to a different station and catch a taxi?

thanks so much

The area is totally safe. Don't worry about it, unless your wife is wearing her diamond tiara and you have a $15,000 Rolex on your uncontrollably waving wrist.

(I live in the 18th arrondissement not far from there.)

Safe, safe, not that safe at night... it is a bit rough anyway don't worry.
The metro is safe but terribly crowded, the northern line 13 is divided in two branchs and "Porte de Saint Ouen" is in Saint Denis branch (dark blue in the electronic panel).

So avoid the rush hours in the northern line 13 (stations after Saint Lazare).
It is already very busy in off peak hours, so imagine how bad are the rush hours.
To go in the Louvre change at "Champs Elysees Clemenceau" for the line 1. The metro station of the Louvre museum is "Palais Royal Musee du Louvre"

Default Rue La Fontaine (Saint Ouen)

I noticed the hotel (Holiday Inn) is about 5km from the metro and you have to go under the highway. Is this still ok to do at 11:00 pm? Would it be better to go to another station (where there are taxis) and take a taxi?
thanks

5km or .5 (as you said before), there's a huge difference.

You seem to have a lot of anxiety about this, have you considered another hotel. Perhaps paying more would be worth it to you.
