Another one of those Top XX lists (Top 12), this time about where to go if the World Goes To Crap. Interesting choices.
1. Chiang Mai, Thailand
2. Tristan de Cunha
3. Guam
4. Denver, Colorado, USA
5. Bern, Switzerland
6. Puncak Jaya, Irian Jaya (Indonesia)
7. Capetown, South Africa
8. Necker Island (but only with Sir Richard Branson's permission)
9. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
10. Kansas City, Kansas, USA
11. Tierra del Fuego
11. Yukon Territories, Canada
Funny article. I love the Rio comment: "[T]his city is already so post-apocalyptic, there shouldn't be much to worry about if things really get bad." LOL.
The Falkland Islands might be a better choice than Tristan de Cunha which is volcanic. In the 1960s the entire population had to be evacuated for severeal years. https://www.cia.gov/library/publicat...k/geos/fk.html
The Moon ! There is water and an American flag. I hereby claim the moon to be a territory of the U.S.A.
Any person from another country who wishes to join the first colony on the moon has to fill out an application form, those can be found somewhere on the "Lets Visit" thread on the Montana board. I won't say what page, you have to read the whole thread to find the application.
Oh and by the way the world has already gone to crap except for a few unspoiled and unpopulated places. The world has gone to crap every where there are people.
LOL rickers, I agree.
Funny article.
FTA, about Denver: And in the event of a war, it's the most defensible city in the US, due to its geography and mountains.
And NORAD an hour away.
I would not hold my breath about the shale, though.

Yeah, I saw that big cone-shaped mountain in the middle of Tristan de Cunha and thought hmmmmm......the island could be a blast!
I think that list is stupid. Rio and Cape Town? Some of the most dangerous cities in the world and you'll really be under siege in an apocalyptic scenario.
Denver is probably on the top 10 list for nuclear missile targets.

Kansas City is also a top nuclear target.
Yeah, I thought the same about Rio and Cape Town.
Why would Kansas City be a top target?? I can think of more important places, like Seattle, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minot (North Dakota), but Kansas City?
