Default Life After the Oil Spill

Hi,

There was a huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The news said that there may be nothing anyone can do for up to 90 whole days. The oil well that's leaking could be spewing up to 5,000 barrels of oil per day into the ocean, and its headed right toward the coastlines of the Southern U.S. If something doesn't happen, it looks like this region can expect our wildlife to die, our beaches to become black, our fishing and tourism industries to shut down, and possibly other effects from the oil as well.

I'm posting on the World forum, because maybe some of you have heard about it. Maybe you've even experienced something like this yourselves. What happens next? I've never experienced anything like this in my life. I don't know what the full impact will be. If anyone has any information or personal stories, I would like to hear them.

If the proper safety measures were taken maybe it wouldn't be in such a state, now those eco systems will suffer the consequences of lax health and safety laws.

They're saying the spill could work it's way around Florida and come up the east coast. Some people here are getting a lil nervous but I think they're being a bit over dramatic. Still, if it did come up the coast, that would be pretty bad. Anyone think it's likely? I think not, but there's always a chance I guess.
