Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I went to secretarial school, we were taught when writing business letters that certain questions should not end with a question mark.

"Will you please remit your overdue payment as soon as possible" sounds like a question, but isn't really, lol.

Exactly! That is considered a polite request, therefore, it requires no quotation marks.

I never heard that. I'd just drope the "Will you..." and start with "Please".

It's an old-fashioned spelling, as in the well-quoted William Blake poem.

Smile Spelling etc

I don't understand poor grammar and spelling when you can use spellcheck - I see e-mails I receive all the time with many many errors.

Thank you!

Spell check is irrelevant if people don't give a sh*t--and they don't. That is the real problem.

Spell check won't keep you from misspelling hundreds of words. Example: She attended the bored meeting. Or, The butcher wade the meat. How about, He spoke with a certain flare. Now we know these should be board, weighed and flair. But if one does not understand basic language foundations of noun, verb and adjective, one will not be helped by spell check.
