I actually HEARD someone say something "needs replaced" recently, and I called her on it. Her excuse is that she's originally from Indiana. She's been living in NJ for 40 years, though.

I was watching HGTV a while ago. A female prospective buyer said that the kitchen cabinets 'need replaced'.

In my 66 years on this earth, I never heard (or saw) that particular language abomination until just a couple of years ago.
Am I to conclude that this type of usage is commonplace in Indiana?

If it started there, it's become more than endemic, it's become a plague!
We have a dozen or so plain cloth napkins, which we switch out once a week or when they're dirty enough to need replaced.
