This thread is a continuation of I can't take it anymore.. The other thread simply grew too lengthy. It's still there for your viewing pleasure and this new thread is simply picking up where the other one left off.

This thread is for those who wish to vent about improper use of the English language. Please remember to be civil and stay on topic. Please refrain from making negative generalizations about any sector of the population.

If you quote a portion of a City-Data post, please do not identify the thread from which it came. The intent of this thread is not to embarrass any of our members, but to simply vent in a lighthearted manner.

Too funny! I ran across this one a moment ago, while perusing the terms and conditions of a contract: "in loo of."

I really like this one, Pam. It always amazes me how many mistakes are in legal documents. I once had a subpoena issued for Mr. I Am Woman! I still went to court.

Merriam-Webster caved! They now list anyways as a word. If it can happen with that, it can happen with any word. Apparently the future goal is anything goes. All testing companies will have to eliminate the verbal section, since whatever is added or subtracted to modify language will be acceptable. B sur 2 mak a noot of that.

". I will not start the Convince store job until after the drug test which is 3-4 days"

Convenience stores probably don't give English tests, right?

Funny that the old thread started with a post about convenience stores.

I just found this on Pinterest, pinned from www.thisoldhouse.com. The title of the pinned article is "how to sodder a copper pipe."

The author should have used spell check on her title. The correct spelling is "solder."

I'll have to use that on purpose when appropriate! In fact, I already did.
