You know what I mean?
(no, I don't, because you're not saying it)

I want to say that the phrase most irritating to me is "I want to say".

Another thing that irritates me is the word "like" or "go" being used for the word "said". It seems to be used by the youthful generation today..
Example, he's like, "That's cool" and, I go like "yeah, cool."

Said in a pompous stentorian basso voice...
"In a world..."
Would that be this world? Are they spelunkers?

''If I (fill in the blank with an offensive deed), I do apologize for that." Sounds like a fake apology to me.

My vote goes to anything with "green" in it: "going green", "thinking green", "building green", "green technology," etc.
Usually, whatever is being talked about is not "green."
Same goes for "environmentally friendly" and its brethren.
One more: "gone missing." Was it done on purpose, as if someone had "gone shopping"? Oy.

There are times when I want to crawl into the box and pull the lid over my head.

If we can put a man on the moon, then why can't we come up with a phrase for wondering why something can't be done other than "If we can put a man on the moon, then...."
