Thanks for that wyolady! I, as a man can get by with just about anything.........my wife reading this could get the notion that only the two stores there's not all bad at all; at least there's two, so that no one store rip's ya like they can do here in Sutherlin.

Torrington's nice, now if I can just get some of the MLS sheets on what kinda' homes are available in that town and what the P. taxes are, I'd be most satisfied to add it to my folio of prospective towns.

Just really got to get to a state with an economy, and knows how to business friendly, tax wise. Many factors including our spineless politicians have virtually shut sustainable logging out of public land in alot of Oregon. Much of rural W. Oregon lives better on bountiful timber receipts, that's been on the downturn really since the early-mid '90s. Hard to bounce back after your state's employed gets used to serving up $4 coffee at the corner as a "living wage". Minimum wage is fine for the temp's & teens but never was meant to be the life for family worker's. Then that wage too has to increase because noone can survive 'round here on it(says the State); bad cycle to force upon any citizenry (tax and spend & welfare for all). Not right to be in that situation like here. Spiraling out of control.

Thanks again for postin'. All the best.
Mike.

Whether there's among the most mild/sunny in Wyoming I kinda gather?

I am from Sheridan. What is it you want to know about it? Born and raised here , moved away and then came back. I may be a little prejudice about Sheridan but will try to be as partial as I can. Just ask away.

Thanks,
Alright, just what do folks do for work in the area please if you know of specifics. Wanna' drive long haul or regional trucks after 50. But if there's a great deal of work possibility with railroads say............I'd like to get involved with that work maybe. Transportation. Or operating heavy equipment in the energy sector for some kind of mining company might be well in demand.

Time for a complete change in what I've been doing fer' the past 20-1/2 years. The wife's in with me!

I'm always looking for a way to initiate my plan for ten years in the future, and the best place to excecute.

Thanks for ringin' in! Have a safe, great Independance Day(aka 4th of July) all!

Mike.

I would have to say the major employers in Sheridan are the 2 large coal mines just across the Montana border, and the 2 hospitals, VA and Sheridan Memorial. We do have railroad here. We just went thru a boom in the methane fields but that has really slowed down. Next question
