December of this year my friend and I are wanting to move to Wyoming. We don't really care what part, but we would like some advice on who thinks what part would be better. Were from Arizona and have only been to part of Wyoming a few times. Please help me out with any suggestions. Little info about us.. Were both in our 20s she's going to be teaching and I love to rodeo and trail ride.. Hope this helps. Thanks in advance for your suggestions

I concur with what jody_wy said. I think the employment pic in WY though is better than it is in AZ or especially any of the western states. I lived in southern WY for almost 24 yrs, IMO, I couldn't wait to get out of there, but I miss never having a traffic jam to worry about any day/time of the week, but not those blistering cold winters! Better get used to wearing long-johns a good at least 3-4 months of the year, and a block heater in your car because you're going to need it.

I know being from AZ the winters are going to be a little harsh; but I've got some
insulated coveralls and have worked in the cold before. I'm actually very excited about getting out of the heat.. I'm in Iraq right now 140 today, and just getting warmer; I would love to see some snow.. If you have any advice on areas that we should look into to live, I would appreciate it.
Thanks again

Well at 140F, I'd love to see snow too

Most of WY as I'm sure you'd know, is very rural. Casper and Cheyenne are the two largest cities and neither of them is over about 50k people. Northern WY is more green, has more hiking/skiing opportunities ( especially near Jackson obviously ) and southern WY is more desert-landscape while eastern WY; particularly in the SE part of the state is flat and tornado country at times...

You could go to rodeos all over the state, but yeah, sounds like wherever your friend gets the teaching job might be a place to set up at for now...unless you are more specific in what you're looking for in WY?

Thank you for your help. Were really not picky, we would like some where we can have a little fun, maybe go out on the weekends. Green and mountains sounds like my kinda place; I'm very sick of the desert I know that for sure. So maybe we'll start looking more towards northern WY. I would like to live around people that also have horses, I've been trying to look for the more equine orientated areas but havent had much luck looking on google.. Thanks again for the help
