Kinda Dangerous Question

Rock Springs,... arrived early Dec from east coast, ... been a bit chilly I notice, but not much snow (yet).

Will be interesting to hear from new-comer.

My first thought at reading the heading

New to Green River or Rock Springs, things to do?
... Plan your first weekend away... (likely to be followed by many). Fortunately, there are lots of options within 'weekend striking distance'. I would be heading to Utah for skiing / mtns. There are some quite close to I-80

I hope the job / living situation is great, and side trips will be welcomed too.

BTW: how was the trip in? How many days?

Best and worse part?

I'm getting used to a smaller city and slower life. Not too bad so far. Anyway, after 40+ hours drive, I'd better get used to it b/c unless I take a flight ain't driving back, too much stress.
The weather has been ok so far but I know the worse is YET to come so let's see what happens next.
I drove from Rock Springs to Pinedale a couple of times and I like the vegetation. I think rangelands are beautiful and I'm interested in Rangeland Economics and Management.

Trip was fine, we made it safely though we were caught in a snow storm in Cheyenne. It was about 42 hours drive. We left Wed at 8pm, we made it Friday around 9:30 pm. We stopped 3-4 times for about 6-8 hours for sleep and meals. All we wanted was to get there as sooner as possible.
Living situation is fine, I hope to find a job soon.
