Thumbs up WOW!!!! Sheridan is Beautiful!!!!!!!

It is trully beautiful here. I came in Tuesday; stayed Monday in Buffalo. I had visited Wyoming in 2000, came up thru Idaho and visited Yellowstone and Jackson Hole and thought that was beautiful. This time I came up I-25 thru Cheyenne, Casper and Buffalo. I loved it. The rolling hills and the openness. I felt as if I was home.
We arrived with a broken wing, a broken leg and a few bandages on our head, but we made it.(Think of the cartoon characters that depict that image.) We came in a fifth wheel....prior to us leaving, the slide decided to extend too far..major problem...the fridge pooped out (just the fan), we had a flat tire in Colorado Springs which in turn ripped out all the wires from under the left side wheel well. Now the fridge doesn't work at all and the main water line is broken. BUT WE MADE IT!!!!! I heard a saying on the news last night....."When God gives you lemons, make lemonade." So I will. I will be taking the Fifth wheel to Casper to get repaired and look for a rental here. I'm just glad we finally arrived in your beautiful town and you all won't even notice we are here.

You're right. Sheridan is an amazing town, definitely one of Wyoming's best. It has an old, stately, elegant feel to it. With big trees, old homes, and the Big Horn Mountains looming over everything. I haven't been there in years, and I'm sure it's only gotten better. Are you moving there? If you are, I wish you the best of luck.

Yes I am with my daughter and two young grandsons. The Phoenix area has gotton way too big and to me, is not a place to raise the boys. Fortunatly my daughter feels the same way. Too many people...the country we used to live in is now just home after home...which brings more and more heat. I looked for over a year and my heart has always been in Wyoming, a very strong pull...so here we are. Thank you....we will be very respectful of this beauty.

jdumars - when that many things go wrong on a trip the only thing you can do is laugh about it. We borrowed a boat one time and never got to use it at the lake. First the weather was bad, then the stearing wheel broke off in my husband's hands when we were loading it on the trailer, that made it fun. When we were going down the interstate in Nebraska one of the tires on the trailer went flat, got chewed up and almost hit a car coming down the on ramp. We didn't have a tall enough jack and had to use some pieces of wood that we got from some nice people, so it wasn't very stable and fell and hit my husband on the top of the head, thank goodness he was okay. So we finally make it back into Wyoming we're 12 miles from home and the other wheel comes clean off, flies across the road and almost takes out a girl on her horse. I held my breath waiting for my husband to start screaming, luckily he started laughing and calmly drove down into the ditch, got out unhooked the boat and collected the tire. We seriously thought there was going to be a big hole in the side of our house when we got home. He called his buddy and told him where he could pick his boat up at LOL!

Earniefan...thats all we could do also. We didn't have the right lug wrench, so we called the local police(Colorado Springs), who sent out the local tow guys to help change the tire. It took two hours on the side of the freeway, trying to figure out how to jack it up.
When we first left, the truck over heated, so we went back to Phoenix,(we were only 40 miles out) had the radiator flushed and rotted and that is when the slide went too far. So a few weeks later, we are off again, the truck over heats only this time I refuse to head back to Phoenix. We stopped at the rest area 40 miles outside of Phoenix and waited 'till dark and then we made our escape. I felt like Phoenix would not let me go!!! The truck ran great from there on out and here we are.
Hoping to make it to the rodeo!!
