I have property near Wheatland and visit as often as I can, though it's usually only for a few days each year.

What are you looking to find out about the area?

I live about 25miles east of Wheatland as the crow flies. The area (to me/in my opinion) is typical midwestern hospitality. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. I can't speak specifically for in town Wheatland, but most of the time the neighbors keep track of each other and what is happening in the area/community. The weather is different...I haven't been to South Carolina, but comparing to North Carolina...the area is dry, with less humidity, rapid weather changes, and very windy. What's bringing you out this way?

In my experience, yes, the people I've encountered were quite friendly. I haven't had the opportunity to get to know any of them very well, but those I do know have been quite kind to me. That's one of the many things I like about the area.
