When I went to college in FL I had 3 roommates from New York. They would give me crap about my accent and I'd give them crap about theirs. It was all in good fun.

You should have no problem here--it's all about how you treat others.

I grew up in Long Island and moved out to Wyoming just over a year ago. I don't have too strong of an accent, but I havent dealt with any issues out here. Just be yourself and you will attract the right friends. Enjoy the culture shock!

I find that Wyomingites are pretty accepting as long as you work hard and are a decent, genuine person. Welcome to Wyoming in advance!

Just try to learn how to say "coffee" the right way -- caw-fee. It's not qwaufee. And it's not "regular". You either want it black, with cream, sugar, or cream and sugar. Oh, and we often call soda "pop". My late wife was from NJ -- born in Brooklyn. She thought pop was pretty funny. *scratches head*

We had a lot of fun with the differences. She was constantly walking into automatic doors. They're apparently set to open more slowly out here to coincide with our slower pace. She absolutely LOVED Wyoming! She couldn't get over the blue skies, bright stars and being able to see the moon at high noon. She said she moved here because somebody told her there was a good-looking cowboy behind every tree. She didn't realize there were no trees until she got here.
