Recover? Heck, it took me 2 hours to cut the casts off when I got home. I'm doing fine. haha It's tough cutting through uncured plaster.

I had 2
I had both of my children at the hospital in Sheridan. My OBGYN is Dr. Scott and I really like him. He did his residency at John Hopkins. It is very true that there are only 2 OBGYNs in Sheridan, but it's also true that they are both great doctors. I've never heard a complaint about either one. In both of my pregnancies, Dr. Scott delivered by babies, so I've never even met Dr. Gill, but a lot of my friends have him as their doctor. There are also only 2 pediatrician offices in town, but 3 pediatricians (as far as I know) and they're both pretty good as well. Anyway, the OBs alternate with their on call time. They each take alternating weekends to be on call. The same applies to the pediatricians. I once asked Dr. Scott why there are only 2 OBs in town and he said that's all they need because Sheridan only averages one birth/day (this was about 5 years ago when I asked). He said that back in the 80s, during a boom, there were 3 OBs.
The drawback to Sheridan only comes into play if you have complications in your delivery. There isn't a NICU in Sheridan. Sheridan cannot accomodate babies born earlier than 36 weeks. If you go into labor before then and they can't stop the labor, they throw you on a helicoptor and ship you off to Billings Deaconess Hospital or down to a hospital in Denver. This is true, I think, for every town in Wyoming. I don't think any WY town has a Neonatal intensive care unit. I actually live in Buffalo, not Sheridan, and the life flight chopper is a common occurence in our skies around here.
Healthcare is definitely something to consider when moving to Wyoming. For instance, my son has a mild scoliosis in his back, so we have to take him to a pediatric orthopedist - at the Denver Childrens Hospital. It's a long drive for a 20 minute checkup! I have friends that have children with more severe health problems and it's not uncommon for them to make monthly trips to the childrens hospital in Denver. I also know adults with spine problems, cancer, etc, that go to Denver for treatment. Billings is about 2 hours from Sheridan. Denver is 8 or 9 hours away.

Dr. Batty has delivered children,
Dr. Gill and Mrs. Gill both deliver children,
Dr. Scott delivers Children,
That makes 4 off the top of my head.

Dr. Batty is not an OBGYN doctor and neither is Mrs. Gill - she's a midwife. the lady was asking about OBGYNs, and there are only 2 of them. Buffalo doesn't have any actual OBGYNs.
