We live on the western side and everyone here goes to SLC for specialists and surgeries. The University of Utah has an Orthopedic Center. You can look it up online, it lists all of their doctors and specialties along with their credentials and schooling. We have much more confidence in the doctors and hosipitals in SLC than we do here. There are some good doctors here but they are few and far between :/

"Along with Emergency stuff, I think alot of people...it depends what the issue is. About 18 months ago, my right leg looked slightly swollen compared to my left. I called the ER in Rock Springs; of which I've never heard great reviews. They had a 3 hour wait. We got in the car and drove to Evanston (100 miles away), to be seen right away. In the time it took to get in the car, go to Evanston, be seen, and drive back...we STILL were ahead of where we would have been, had we gone to the Rock Springs ER. I've talked to quite a few people who have said they've gone to the ER in Evanston for that very same reason."

We have decided we will do the same thing from now on. The ER here in Rock Springs is ridiculous. I have heard great things about the doctors in Evanston too.

Mildly off topic, but funny - and a true story.

I just completed a years-long investigation into medical fraud in Las Vegas. While there, the federal prosecutor who handles healthcare fraud let me in on a local joke:

Q: Where do you go for good medical care in Las Vegas?

A: The airport.
