Default Need Casper Info

We might soon be moving to Casper and would love to get some info from "real" people. We are from eastern Idaho and know about the snow, wind, etc...

What about schools? We have one 8th grader and one 10th grader. Also have 1 that will start preschool next year.

Are there any "better" parts of town to live in?

I have heard about Casper Mountain, are there other recreational places nearby?

Anything you can tell me would be great!

Thanks

There are no bad parts of town. North Casper has a bad rep but it isn’t bad at all. It got it during the oil boom in the 70's but now it is an ok part of town. I play ball there all the time and have no problems with it. But it just comes down to how much you want to spend. Housing right now is high in Casper and it is a sellers market.

As for schools if you want a sports school Natrona County High School is the one. They put money in the fields and have some very nice places to play and it shows by how much they win. The other school is Kelly Walsh High School (The one I went to)
For middle school there is 4 in town. The one that just re-opened this year is a high tech one and use mostly computers and a very nice looking school.

The other rec places around is a lake outside of town about 20 miles. There is the North Plate River that flows though the town that has a ton of rec things you can do. Floating the river is quickly becoming a popular thing. But it is always a matter of how far you want to travel.

Jobs here are come in and interview and take the job. We have many new stores wanting to open but cant because of the lack of people to work. Help wanted signs all over and if there is no sign just ask because everyone needs people.
