Default Beautiful Wy

Just came back from Wyoming looking at the Northwestern area for the last 10 days. I am in love and it feels like home and we all feel the same. My husband and I are looking to relocate in the next year or so after I finish with my college and before our youngest starts kindergarden. We have three kids and took them with us to look in the Cody area and Powell, but we especially love the Wapiti area and along the Chief Joseph scenic highway. Jobs are promising there but am shocked by how expensive it is there already. Anyway...could anyone share any other info about the area, amount of snow, wind, schools or anything else we may be blinded by due to the beautiful mountains and Shoshone forest around? Thanks.

Jenn

I grew up in cody and currently live in powell. I would rather live nowere else in this world and I have ben out of wyoming. The wind by wyoming standards is minimal, not much snow, the mountains take it all but it can get sub zerro for weeks in the winter schools are realy good it is a desirable place and atracts good teachers.

Default What about Frannie WY

I ran across a town called Frannie with affordable housing and within a reasonable commute to or around the Cody area. Can anybody give me any info on this town, like the size how long the commute would really be in the snow, schools there and any known crime/drug problems there. Thanks.

Frannie to Cody? That's about a 43 mile trip, one way. Although that area doesn't get as much snow as a lot of other areas, it does get a fair amount. Could make for a nast commute.

My cousin and his wife were here in Sheridan. His wifes relatives live in Frannie and have a business. They asked my cousin and wife to move up there and work for them. Cousin and wife traveled up and liked what they saw. But there was no housing available. So it was about 3 months of relatives looking for suitable housing. But they found it. Just took a little time.

Might consider a travel trailer or something of the kind to live in until housing can be found.
