Default Looking at Real Estate - Areas to stay away from in RS/GR?

Hey all....

I'm looking at real estate in the RS/GR area..... trying to get a head-start before we're in the area Wednesday - Saturday. Are there any areas I should stay away from? I don't mind a place that's a bit of a fixer; I would just like to be in a decent area. I'm not interested at any high-end areas either; just your normal neighborhood.

We're going to be looking for something small... I don't want to buy anything too large as we're not planning on having a family in RS and I want to make sure everything works out well with this company (assuming I get the job on Thursday) before we really get into anything but a starter home.

2/1 in a decent area would suit us fine as we're trying to keep the cost down until we settle. Any thoughts? Areas to look at? Any areas to stay away from?

Thanks!
