From West Texas to Wyoming! (Torrington, Lingle: live in, restaurants, eat)

We worked the Sugar Beet fields around the Torrington area; Lingle, Veteran, Yoder, & Huntley in the early 1970's through the late 1980's from mid May through late August. I have always dreamed about going back to Torrington. In December 2005, I took my wife and kids to see where I spent the summers for 18 years. My kids really enjoyed going to see where I spent my summers growing up. We live in West Texas. I have been cooking for about 18 years in Mexican, American Restaurants. My wife and I are thing about opening a Mexican (Tex-Mex) Restaurant but not here in West Texas, because theres too many restaurants in about 1 in every corner. We have been thinking about opening a restaurant in Torrington Wy. Can anyone give us some feed back on opening one there?

There are 3 Mexican restaurants in town. La Familia Prado is on Rt 85 south of town and is (in my opinion) the most authentic. Grampa Chuy's is on Main St, some folks really like the food, but to me it's sort of bland. Finally there's Jose Paisano's on Main St, which serves Mexican, Italian and American fare. They're pretty good.

I think an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant could do well here, if you had a good location. Be certain that your location has plenty of parking. Several eateries on the north end of Main St have failed, and I always suspected that the lack of parking on that end of town played a part in their downfall.
