Rode the old snow coach into Old Faithfull Sunday , Monday was a great day we x-skied to the black sand pool and felt the ground shake and the loud thumping sound before it erupt ,it started this last September , the last time was for 8 days back in the 80s and before that clear back in the 30s. On the way there were only 2 skiers that were in front of us and there were wolf tracks on top of their tracks, they were way bigger then our livestock guard dog Cindy’s tracks. We got almost back to see Old Faithfull go off, had a picnic in our room them went on a snow shoe tour to some out of the way thermal features. Had a great rare prime rib for a Birthday dinner, then at 8:40 watched Old Faithful erupt under the big dipper with only 2 other people there beside Sue and I.
Got out early today , jumped the truck but it wouldn’t run, the fuel filter cracked, got a service call that didn’t make it till 6PM to Flagg Ranch, got a filter on but the bleeder plug was cracked so got a ride home and have to go back tomorrow and get our truck. Yellowstone in the winter time picture yet to come.
Wen back Wed and got the truck running, From Flagg Ranch to Moran Jct was too bad going back. But From Moran to Jackson was white out conditions plus it wasn't very nice going down Snake River Canyon....Had a fuel filter but not a wrench that would work to take it off. Getting one for the truck tool box along with a extra bleeder screw....

Sounds like a great trip Jody, even with the vehicle difficulties. It's always a pain when you have vehicle problems while traveling. I carry a wrench and spare bleeder in my truck. hahaha Been there, done that. I have 318,000 miles on the old gal so I have a lot of spare this and that's with me when I take off.

Default Thx a bunch for the pics- "flowers" ;)

Great trip,
We enjoy you sharing the pics, so we can go (via rocking chair) too!

I so wish to get a winter job driving a snow coach / bus in YNP. (one reason I continue my EXPENSIVE and troublesome CDL) (commercial license w/ passenger endorsement).

Randomly called in for 6 drug tests in one yr @ $100/pop Never use(d) the stuff.

Regulators...

And Fuel Filters BTDT. (In WY and elsewhere; never at the right time...)

Stunning! Thanks for sharing! We are getting married out there in a week! Any specific recommendations on ski/snow shoe trails we should do?

Ski to Black Sand Pool-geyser, we did a snow shoe tour, guide was a little slow and we saw some thinks off the beaten path, but there a advanced ski trail that goes up high around the geyser basin and youcan shoe next to that trail.
