Is there any local bars? Hometown hangouts that anyone would reccomend to get to meet local people? Especially interested in the Crook and Westin county areas. Is Cassie's in Cody worth a visit? Just want to get a true feel of the everyday people. Thanks

In most any town that has an Elks, American Legion, VFW, or Eagles, is going to have the local flavor. Not sure what the towns in those counties have.

Cassies is kindof 'dead' until the Cody Night-Rodeo season starts-up again, and then that place will start picking-up some action (mostly tourists) from local wannabe ranchers, dude-ranch & guest-lodge employees, but right now the 'Irma/Silver-Saddle' lounge gets most of the local patronage. I'd say Casper has a few places to visit ('Cowboys' is a good place to start) and 'Million Dollar Cowboy Bar' in Jackson has quite a loyal following among most tourists; does'nt matter the season...it's always open for business. Outside of that, most every town has it's own bar where the locals congregate early Friday and Saturday night, and then it gives way to the younger-generation as the night progresses; I'm sure you know the drill...lol

I don't know about bars, but Sundance has a restaurant that serves great breakfasts. Maybe a local can help me on the name of the restaurant that serves a biscuits and gravy-style dish called the Devils Tower. It stacked high like its namesake.

I forgot this in my original post but does anyone know of any local parades or festivals that would be going on in Oct? Thanks for all the comments so far.
