I'm sure it would be a good place to raise kids. However, it is a very expensive place to raise them. Housing for a single mom with 4 kids would be really pricey relative to the income you'd likely make as a dental assistant. Jackson is an extremely expensive place to live. Yes, it is quite beautiful, but beauty comes at a great price. Looking at several sources, I don't see anything indicating any dental assistant jobs even available there. There are other places in Wyoming that are quite lovely and far more financially friendly.

Being a seasonal place and summer still being the much busier season in Teton County, now, a month ago even better, is still in the sweet spot for summer jobs. I didn't look but many of those jobs are probably summer jobs. The good news with the high COL, hourly wages are pretty decent, comparitively. As usual. alot more jobs than places to rent. Due to the economy the cost real estate has gone from thru the roof ridiculous to semi ridiculous. I think it's great place to raise kids if you can afford it.

Many commute from over the "potatoe curtain" also know as Teton Pass from Idaho. Real estate used to be affordable in Victor/Driggs but since the growth has made it over Teton Pass, now it's somewhat expensive.

There are professional jobs in Jackson but there is keen competition for those but people that already have solid housing in the valley do have an advantage, some of the tme. When I lived there the real estate boom was moving full steam ahead there were 900 real estate agents in Teton County, now I hear the figure is around 300, maybe less.
