The OP is exactly right, while Aspen et al is busy in the summer, 75% of Teton County business is done in the summer. Easy way to check is to look at the county sale tax revenues. There are lots of bars in Jackson Hole and the average wage is higher than the rest of the state. Unfortunately, due to the real estate recession, there are not as many jobs as it used to be. When I left Jackson in 1996 there were around 750 licensed realtors, now it around 300.

sunsprit, seams to have a good handle on this topic.

Jackson Hole Wy, Only has a couple of bars and when the ski hill closes only around 2 of them stay open over the summer.

Jackson Wy. has around 16-19 bars.
And most of them are actually restaurants with maybe a small bar in the corner.
Yes, Jackson is busy in the summer with tourists.

A lot go out for dinner then retire for the evening.
The Gun Barrel is a nice spot
Then the rowdy tourists go to the cowboy~bar.
We noticed that most of the staff was the same people from the year before.
The virginian still allows smoking the last bar in town to allow it.

Can you find a job without some inside help, possibly.

The skipatrol/instructor example, they had jobs at the ski hill, this lead to connections that got them their jobs in town.

ps, Try a search for Jackson Hole wy. It's a ski resort.
There is not a town or city named Jackson Hole in Wy.
And yes to the locals it's a thing.

You might have been able to "hike" up those 14er's in Co. but you will need some climbing ability to do the Grand. a 13'er.

This Jackson Hole versus Jackson is tiresome. Jackson hole is not the Ski Resort it is the whole area. It is named that because it is a hole(valley)
in between the Mountain ranges. It encompasses everything from Hoback Junction to Moose, the Village and all areas in between.

It is
There is not a town or a city called Jackson Hole in WY.
Yes, the area is refereed to as Jackson hole.
BUT the only thing named Jackson Hole is the ski area that is in Teton Village a ways up the RD.
Folks get confused because for tourism and the local paper use Jackson hole because they see them selves as part of the valley and they serv the whole valley. The city is Jackson Wy

Go find Jackson Hole on a map.

Did , I say you could find it on a map? NO! Jackson Hole is the area, Jackson is the town, Jackson Hole Mountain resort is the company that owns and runs the mountain at the Village.

So get it right the only thing that is Jackson Hole is the area that the valley encompasses. We don't care what people call it we know what they are talking about.

By the way even the Chamber of Commerce is called Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce because people are visiting the area not just the Town.

Because the chamber serves the whole valley.
Just like the News paper, (that I mentioned earlier, why some believe the two names are interchangeable is because of this).

For someone who is/was tired of it you sure have drug it out.

You did not have it right. You said that the Mountain or ski hill was Jackson Hole.

I was tired of your trying to make a point to someone who was not from here. The people who live here do not care when people misname the town. It is not the big deal you seem to want to make it. No one comes just to visit the town of Jackson, they come to Jackson Hole the area.

Okay, children, time to stop arguing and play nice! Geez, what a stupid thing to highjack a post about. EH, I think you would agree that this thread needs to get back on topic.
