My Papa is a hero... please help
I need to tell you a little bit about my grandpa so you understand how great of a man he is and why I am posting this. My papa raised all of his 5 kids with his wife. Then, when him and his wife separated , one of his daughters had a baby which he ended up raising. The same daughter eventually had seven kids which he is still raising, because he was the only family they had to take care of them when their mother abandoned and he loves them very much. He never had a problem with raising them. Unfortunetly, he is getting too old to work and barely has enough money to get by. The youngest of the kids is 6 years old, so he still has awhile to go. What I am saying is he doesn't have money for the holidays and he doesn't want to let them down for Christmas, and he doesn't want them to stop believing in santa. If anyone knows any ways to help with presents for the 3 kids he is still raising I would like to know. My papa is also one of those people who is too proud to admit he needs help, but he is the most kind hearted man in the world! You're advice is very much needed.

I'm sorry. I couldn't give advice to somebody like that. He's doing an outstanding job. He doesn't need advice, he needs encourgement. He needs no help. I'm in the same boat. I can't get any presents for grandkids. But you know what? They don't need presents. They just need to know that I'm hear for them. I will love them, and I will protect them. No matter what happens.

You don't need sympathy. That man is doing a hell of a job and must be encouraged. He's doing what he can.

First, hats off to your papa. He's giving those kids lessons in character and integrity that very few learn. You have every right to be proud of him!
Now, back to the question at hand. You might contact local churches and the town chamber of commerce. Both should be able to help directly or point you in the direction of another organization that can.

In most Wyoming towns, it's the Police departments that have traditionally handled the "Toys for Tots" programs.
If he is in parts of western Wyoming, check with the local Mormon (LDS) Church - the bishop in particular and then, the local president of the Relief Society (A Mormon Womens' Organization).
Wyomingans are fiercely independent - but also take care of their own when they can.

Korysa,
My thinking is give the wonderful man a great gift ! All of you need to write him a letter from your heart to what he means to you. Wow what a Christmas gift.
Bob LOL !
