I found this Article in the news on line thought you might like to read it.
The story stated that Lawrence S. Gordon Worked on a Wyoming Ranch before serving in WWII.
Geez, just think. It took the Germans and the French officials to exhume Gordon and identify him through DNA testing. That’s right, the relatives of this U.S. soldier, who fought against the Germans, are relying on Germany to bring him back home.
Here is the link to the whole story.

It's a sad state of affairs when the current administration will not take responsibility for such things as this. Yes, it would open up a can of worms, so to speak, to start running DNA testing on remains.

In the same light, we all know of the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington VA. There were 4 soldiers buried there. A man from WWI, WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam. However, in 1998, President Bill Clinton had the Viet Nam soldier exumed so that DNA testing could be done. He was positively identified as Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Joseph Blassie. Until that time, there were thousands of parents that had a very special place in their heart because the "Unknown" could very well be, their son. In 1998, one set of parents were relieved to find out that their son was there. He was exumed and taken to his home in Mississippi. That left thousands of parents, brokenhearted when they now realized that there was no possible way the Unknown, could be their son.

There will never be another "unkown" added due to current testing capabilities.

Not sure if people know, but when an Unknown was laid to rest at the Tomb, they were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, and the Legion of Meret, amoung many other medals awarded by other countries.

I had no idea they had identified one of the unknown soldiers. Thank for that information.
