Yes!! I did find that last night!! I'm also excited to find that you all have a Walgreens and a Target in town!! Walgreens has SUCH great deals to be had, especially with their rebate program. I'm excited that I'll finally be close enough to one to actually take advantage of that!! And Target has internet coupons that you can print out - so that's somewhere else that I've wanted to shop to find deals.

My husband was excited to know that there is a Sears in town, too.
He's a die-hard Craftsman tool fan...

I am SO liking what I'm finding out about Cheyenne!!
Just keeps getting better and better!!

I also like the fact that there are several colleges/universities nearby!! You can never know too much, you know??!!

Thanks for the info., six!!

"Severa" Colleges/universities nearby? Huh?

LCCC in Cheyenne. UWyo in Laramie ... which, in the winter months, is anything but "nearby" if you think you're going to commute from Cheyenne; this is the only University campus in the State.

UnivColorado in Fort Collins ... again, not very accessible on a daily basis in the winter months.

UW - College Dr./House Ave.

Warren National University (formerlly known as Kennedy-Western) on 17th st., Cheyenne.

LCC- on College Dr.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Blackpowder Rd./Ziemann Blvd./Warren AFB

Institute of Bus. & Med. Careers

Preston University

American Capital Univ. - 17th St.

American Univ. - Lincolnway

Paramount Univ. of Tech.

Wwami-Univ. of WA., School of Medicine

Univ. of Phoenix

Regis Univ. - College Dr.

Park Univ. - Blackpowder Rd./Ziemann Blvd./Warren AFB

And a few beauty colleges...

Unless this list in outdated, I'd say that's enough to keep me busy for a while!!

Koko ... the "bricks and mortar" institution of higher learning in Cheyenne is LCCC.

I'm not certain of the Embry Riddle status at WAFB, but the rest of those "institutions" of higher learning ... are, for the most part ... "paper institutions".

Wyoming has some lax laws which have allowed non-accredited institutions to flourish here, so be very careful before enrolling in some of the "colleges" you listed.

However, the education office at FE Warren offers accredited, degree granting, courses on the base, and LCCC is a fine 2-year institution. Otherwise, you'll need to go to Laramie or Ft Collins.

Thanks for the heads up on all that Sunsprit, and Sixofone!!

And like someone else mentioned earlier, I am also a big believer in keeping your money in your own community. So, since it looks like we'll be living in Cheyenne, sounds like I'll be attending either LCCC or school on the base. And that's fine by me. I'm not driving to Laramie just to go to the University. For what I'd like to do though, I might have to take a online course or two there.

Right now, I'm narrowing down exactly when we're going to leave to come up there. Looks like our best best would be around Dec. 27th!! And we plan to stay for at least a week.

I'm rather nervous about what the roads will look like then. I mean, there's no way to predict a blizzard 2 and 1/2 wks. out. And it sounds like the weather can be quite unpredictable up there. I wonder if I could talk any of you into being my own personal "weather updater" - who would give us road condition updates along the way. We'll be stopping overnight (half way) somewhere, so I'd like to check in with you all then to see what the weather is looking like up there. Anyone game??

ETA: We're going for a visit, not "the big move", yet...
