I'll. ask again seeings how it keeps getting mentioned. haha. The East Continental Divide, or the West one. We've already determined that it doesn't appear to stop the wind, but I do want to point out that the Divide splits so there is a East and a West when you travel I80. You cross it twice.

There is something wrong with the data presented for Rock Springs. If you look at most published wind data maps you will see the opposite (see below). RS/GR isn't as windy as Rawlins/Laramie, but it is significantly windier than most of the basin (Upper Green, Big Horn) areas and leeward areas of the Wind Rivers (Lander) and Big Horns (Sheridan).

I also have many years of personal experience, living in Sweetwater County and then in other areas of the country. Rock Springs is very windy compared to most populated areas of the U.S.
