Default Wanting to buy a business in NW Wyoming

My husband and I currently own a small HVAC business in Oregon. We have lived in Oregon all of our lives and are tired of the liberals, rain and traffic! We make a good living but would be willing to make less in order to live in a friendlier, drier, smaller area. We love Cody and have friends there but would consider other parts of Wyoming as long as there were mountains close by - the plains don't really appeal to us as we are quite fond of the trees and mountains we have grown up with. We didn't know anything about the heating business when we bought it and we have been successful, so we are open to learning another type of business. If anyone is looking to sell a business that's profitable, fun and has little competition, please let us know. We may be asking the impossible but we believe in miracles

Be very careful. I saw a man that was a licensed Chiropractor in another state. In good standing. Move into a small town in NE Wyoming. He brought his family to that town, bought a house, got licensed by the state of wyoming. And for some unknown reason. (I know). The CITY he lived in wouldn't give him a local business liscense to operate. There was another Chiropractor in the city operating at the time. This happened in the early 1990's. The man ended up almost destitute and was struggling to find a way out of the city so he could operate at his chosen profession.

To be honest, we are tired of the HVAC business so we're really not looking to continue it anywhere. We'd really like to try our hand at something new that we could do with our two adult sons. We're ready to do something "fun". Maybe a sporting goods store or hardware - something like that. A "Mom and Pop/family" type business. Anyone want to buy a profitable HVAC business with commercial property in Oregon? Let us know.

All I have to say it get out while you can and don't look back!

We just moved to Sheridan, WY from Oregon, about an hour from Portland area..

My husband is actually in the HVAC trade he actually got a raise by moving here.. and is treated with a lot more respect and dignity as well.. So we are happy campers..

Sheridan is next to the Big Horn Mountains, which are beautiful..

As far as more trees, I think that Story, WY, not to far from here has more trees than in Sheridan, really anywhere in Wyoming is not going to look like OR and be as green. But we were willing to give up that in order the live in a different surrounding and lifestyle.

Buffalo has a little bit more trees than here I think? My husband has gone there for some jobs, I haven't personally, but that is what he tells me.. Although I think Sheridan is a pretty place and I love it here so far..

Best of luck to you, if you can't find someone to buy your business, I bet that Roth heating out of Canby, OR a great big company and growing would want to buy your business.. I don't personally care for their company, but they buy a lot of little shops and use them as "sattelite shops"

Best of luck to you and your family..
