It's hard for me to know what exactly to post here. I did not know Jim. I am, however, his eldest. I know myself, and my siblings, all appreciate the condolences. His children are me, of course, Linda, Anita, Beckie, Bobbi, and Thomas. please say an extra prayer for Anita, Beckie, and thomas, as they are the ones in Sheridan that have to do all the hard things.

Again, on behalf of his family, thank you for the condolences.

I think you might be able to get to know him a bit if you ever have the time to read his posts. He created friends and maybe a few enemies over the years here but his caring shone through. It is sad that sometimes those closest to a person don't get to know that person in ways the strangers do. Not all of us share well in person.

He will be buried next week at Black Hills National Cemetary. Just up the road from where I work.

In our smaller, western states, those of us who post for years do get to know others at CDF. Scott S. told me. I'm sorry for his family, his friends including here at CDF and those who posted in forums he moderated. I hope for peace and healing for all. The regulars in WY do need to process this for a while. This sad news must be a big shock to many. I'm sorry.

Take good care of yourself, your friends and each other as you mourn your valued and trusted friend.

Sending an Intermountain Cyber hug to all in the WY and MT forums.

Your southwest neighbor, MSR,

Additional info posted by his daughter:

Thank you for sharing. They think he died Wednesday from a heart attack, blood clot or GI bleed, not because nobody was checking on him. His landlord had been over there Monday to visit and he was doing great. Because of the way I found him, I would say it happened suddenly. What I had to see is going to scar me for the rest of my life.
Timber is with his landlord and will be at the service. Please tell his buddy's thank you for the condolences, and the obituary should be posted to Kanes no later than tomorrow.
