For any travelers planning on going through Niobrara County or going through Lusk or Manville there is only one way to get here. Currently you can come through Lingle and head north to Lusk. Last night we had a flash flood and hiway 85 bridge collasped after it was struck by a house a couple of times. That is the only way in from the north. Hiway 18/20 closed from 1-25 going east as road was washed out just west of Manville 20 headed east is still under flash flood warning going towards Nebraska. I was told by workers that road would be closed about five miles east of Lusk. All utilities have been out, but electricity came on about 4:00 p.m. today. Water is contaminated so we have no drinking water. Governor Mead has sent National Guard to help with flood control and bring water. Many people lost homes, but no lives or injuries reported. Community is involved in many stages of help. Best help is prayer for less rain, but forecast calls for more yet.
