Default Considering a move....

I have a job opportunity in Teton County and understand that housing is quite expensive in the area, was hoping someone could guide me to surrounding towns in Jackson Hole that have affordable homes. Trying to convince my wife is a whole seperate issue. Thanks in advance for your responses!

Default Star Valley

Jackson is totally out of reach for a normal working person! Our saying here is that the billionaires are driving the millionaires out of Jackson! Many people live in Driggs/Victor (Idaho) - terrible commute in the winter - the pass has been closed for the past 2 days (avalanche / blowing snow). Many people (including myself) live in Star Valley. In all fairness, the Snake River canyon was closed yesterday due to avalanche, but all in all I think the winter drive is usually better from this end (we are driving up the canyon, not OVER the PASS)! Star Valley is a great place to live - small town feel, friendly, safe. Depending on where you are moving from it may or may not be difficult to convince your wife! (I am the wife in our family and I love it here!) There is a lot to do here (as there is in Jackson) if you enjoy the outdoors, but things are more affordable.

Hope that helps - if it were me I would definitely head for Star Valley!

We are in Star Valley as well. I would never drive the pass! I don't have to commute though my husband does. Prices here are relative as well.

You can look at this for house pricing. Moderator cut: By TOS realitor adds not allowed. Just google Jackson Realitors

Alpine, Etna, Thayne are closest to Jackson ( 40 to 80 minute drive)

This is the Jackson Hole newspaper Jackson Hole News&Guide Newspaper | Jackson, Wyoming

It is a fast growing community. Mostly rural.
