Road closing in Wyoming
Can anyone help!!! My son is trying to get to Utah from Rawlins, Wyoming. From what he is telling me Rt.80 is closed. He tried driving through CO but that was not a good idea, so he drove back to Rawlins in hopes that Rt. 80 would be open. It's seems that 80 is still closed. I looked at mapquest and I noticed if they could get to Green River,WY they would be able to 191, does anyone know if this road is open or knows of another way to go?
Thank you
Elaine

191 South is closed.
But it's showing that I-80 is open all the way through the state. Except, no empty trackter trailers because of the wind.

Welcome to the high plains of Wyoming...at least he's west of Elk Mt. Forget Mapquest as it's not like there are alternative routes from Rawlins to Utah. At least none that I would try in the winter. Hopefully by now he is on his way.

Don't leave the highway if you don't know where you are going. It's better to be stuck on this main highway than out on some of these two lane roads ! The folks that work on I-80 will get er opened up . Just be patient !

Fighting Mother Nature is useless.
Find a warm spot and stay there until the roads open up.

Excellent (and possibly life-saving) advice.
