Default Miracle Mile

A shot looking NW at Miracle Mile. The Pedro Mountains in the background. Gratuituous truck shot included--you can kind of see where the raccoon climbed in the (then) open window during the night to steal some hotdog buns....

And looking SE towards the canyon....

were you sleeping inside when the raccoon came for a visit? Had one open my tent once and come in for some brownies..then it peed all over the bunks (we had slept in the truck due to torrential rainfalls)

Pretty pics though. thanks for sharing

Where, exactly, in Wyoming is Miracle Mile?

I was. I'd heard the doorlocks (from standing on the armrest) but it didn't really "register" in my brain because I was just falling asleep. He (she?) also stepped on the button to fold in the mirrors and that was my first indication in the morning that something was up--I knew I'd certainly not folded them in when I parked it.

One of the "features" of the Avalanche is that the back window comes out and the rear panel folds down to make a full-size pickup bed. That tent will also zip down there in the back so that you can actually have access to the whole cab if so desired. I happened to have not opened everything up that night--I can only imagine that confrontation.

Miracle Mile is the stretch of the Platte river that connects Seminoe Reservoir, on the other side of the mountain there in the second photo, to Pathfinder Reservoir, on the other side of the Pedro Mountains there in the distance of the first photo.

There are some AWESOME photos in this thread! Really, really beautiful. Nice job, guys & gals.

I was looking through the thread hoping to find some pics of what everyday landscape & local pics of the bigger towns looks like. The photos here are great, but almost all of them were taken because the subject is somehow special or exceptional.

I found the WYDOT webcam page this morning, and while it's almost all pics of highways, there is plenty of landscape to be seen in them, too. I thought I'd post the link here, for others who are looking for photos of more mundane, everyday landscape and subjects.

Here it is: WYDOT Travel Information Service (Cheyenne)

We're strongly considering a move to WY in about a year, and I'm in the research phase right now. I'll have a bunch of questions for you soon. Thanks for the pics, and for the info I've been finding in the other threads!

Great Pictures by everyone, I have been lucky enough to see many areas of your beautiful state over the years. We visited Devils Tower in June and wished we lived closer than we do.

Nice pictures of Devils Tower. I spent the last two nights in the campground there. Here are a few pictures, just from the campground early Thursday morning.

There's a cow moose and calf in there if you look hard enough. She didn't like us and was snorting at us.

The cow moose and calf are just right of center.

Elk Hunter,
Wow!!! What a beautiful scenery! I was just out in Wyoming a few weeks ago visiting my family in Upton and New Castle. I got many very nice photos myself.
