I believe the flower that looked like bluebonnets was lupine...
I would have to look it up in my wildflower book...

I had all of the memorized last summer... and it slips my mind at the moment...

There is indian paintbrush, lupine, white flax, sunflowers of a couple different varieties, sticky geraniums, and I think there is larkspur also... and purple little daisy shaped flowers, I wanna say wild mums, but I am probably wrong, but there are tons...

I envy you Navyvet, I would love to get a Rebel!!

Aha, well...bluebonnets are a species of lupines so it was a good guess!

I do miss the wildflowers of central Texas. I hope the warmer weather soon brings some to this part of Wyoming soon!

I have a bunch of pictures from all of my traveling throughout the state but it won't let me upload the picture because they say it is too big. How do I make it smaller.

Do you have a photobucket account?
If not, you can open one at Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
If you get an account you should be able to download them, and then there is a new editing feature, you can click on resize and resize them accordingly...
plus they will give you the codes needed to post them on forums, email, html ect...

If you need a good photo editing software that is free, you can go to IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide and download a version of the software...

Then look through the menu options and click on resize...

They use pixels... In the first column I would try reducing it to 800 pixels, or 600, or even 400... it will automatically adjust the other column for width... according to what you put in the first column.

I hope that helps

oh lol, I didn't know that about the bluebonnets

I think after this spring storm today, spring should finally come now... like Elkhunter was saying that is what happened last year... it will be interesting to see what happens this year

I hope no one minds my jumping in with images I have shot here in Wyoming.

Sunset this winter outside of Sundance:

Remains of a homestead (the Zook (sp?) place) by Buckhorn:

Sunset over Glendo Reservoir:

Thank you for allowing me to post some of the many images I have shot!

Oh my. I hope you don't think I'm following you around. I like to look at the picture threads here at night...I'm really looking forward to seeing your photography once you move to Alaska. Those pictures you posted are great.
