Default Where do we live?

My husband is looking to relocate us in Wyoming. He can live anywhere but I need to be near a medical center or surgical center to work. Casper has no available housing to rent. Where should we try to land?

hey JoyK...
Here's a list of WY medical centers. What are you looking for in a town, topography, etc?

I guess what I'm saying is...

If Casper is your ideal destination, but there are absolutely no housing alternatives for you there...then Casper is out, right?
So if Casper is out, what are you looking for? As you can see by the link I posted, there are med centers all over WY. The next thing would be to figure out what you want in a town, and then figure out what, off that list, best suits what you are looking for.
Also, knowing more what you are looking for in a community might help folks here better advise you.

Man, that's odd. Casper usually always has housing or apartments available.

What are you looking for?

I've called several apartment complexes and they have no availability. Casper would be the ideal place since it would put my husband centrally located in the state. I am from West Texas and it is flat, dry, windy, and low on trees. My husband is from Buffalo, WY and would love to return there. It is a beautiful little town but I do not think it would provide me employment opportunities.

Buffalo wouldn't be bad. Sheridan just built a new surgical center last year. Plus there's Memorial Hospital and also the VA. But the VA doesn't do surgery's.

It's only 32 miles, so a 25 minute commute.

You can try Glenrock.......it's 18 miles east of Casper. Has a small clinic. Takes all of 20 minutes with a choice of two roads to get to "town".

I heard that Casper's housing was at 0% availability rate and had to build some income qualifying housing for younger people and those that had lower income cause they couldn't find anywhere to rent either...

What is really weird, is when I moved to Sheridan last February, there were tons of rentals available in Casper at the time... and I was shocked they are now at
0%

What line of work are you looking at getting into? I think there are lot's of employment opportunities available in Buffalo - just depends on what your looking for. I think the bigger problem you'd find is the affordability of housing in this area, and not the lack of it.
