Default How much snow does Torrington get

I am still searching for towns I like. I Torrington is on my list of places to visit when I go up to WY in June. I was just wondering how much snow they get on average. I am looking for a place that gets snow but not so much I am snowed in for a week. I love the snow and this is one reason for moving north from Texas. My kids have never seen more than a couple of inches of snow at a time. Winter is my favorite season and I miss snow. If anyone has a picture of the snow there I would love to see it. Thanks

Supposedly we get 30 inches per year, but it seems to fall in unusual patterns. Dec-Jan are our coldest months and we'll get 2-3 storms then but they'll be small (1-3 inches). Then, sometime in early April we'll catch an upslope storm, the skies will open and a 18-24 inches of snow will dump on us. When the snow stops, spring will arrive and all that snow will melt very quickly.

I'll ditto sixofone. I've lived in a variety of Wyoming towns - Laramie, Cheyenne, Casper, Hanna, etc. - and moved to Torrington FOR the weather. We considered the valley up by Worland/Powell, Newcastle and Torrington. I have beautiful pictures of sunsets upon snowcovered ground, but have very few memories of "snowed in" storms. When I first moved here, it amazed me how intense snowstorms strike all around us - Cheyenne, Lusk, Nebraska, Laramie Peak - and we would get a little snowfall, but within days, it was gone because of the temperatures.

Basically, I wanted to stay in Wyoming for all of the good things we have to offer, but wanted the nicest weather. So I chose Torrington. . . . .
