Default Rock Springs/Green River Housing

My husband and I are relocating to Rock Springs/Green River. We understand that in order to get the best deals you have to be there and be proactive. We are over 40 and don't have children at home. We have a 4 year old golden retriever which has made it almost impossible to rent something without having to pay a 500 plus dollar non refundable deposit. We will do it as he is part of our family and will not give him up for anything.
My question is, does anyone out there have anything they would like to rent that is reasonable and in good shape?
Or do you have any information as to where we can look to have better luck?

Thank you!!

Make sure you are checking rocketminer.com (Rock Springs Newspaper) and greenriverstar.com, for local listings. There is sometimes some on craigs list, but really the rocketminer is that best that I have found. When I was looking, I contacted local real estate agents, and some could give me a list of rentals, and/or names of renters. Good Luck!

we are considering a move to Green Springs---I would love some information about the housing market! We visited the area, and I feel that the market is inflated in comparison to the economy in the U.S. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated and helpful in our decision to "either move there, or stay put". Thank you.

Are you looking to rent or buy? 1 year ago it was impossible to find a rental or affordable housing due to the energy boom in the area, but since the oil fields (and others) have laid off hundreds of people recently things should start to get more affordable. Last time i checked there were probably 50+ rentals in the r.s. newspaper so apparently many people simply left the area.
