I guess I need to get a clarification. First, are you sure you have the mineral rights, or does the company that contacted you own the rights and are just letting you know that they will start drilling on the land that you own ? This is two different issues. If you own the rights then they have to get permision to drill or dig or what ever, if they own the rights they can "trespass" on your surface rights to get access to their mineral rights.
So is someone informing you that they are drilling or are they asking to buy the rights to go after the minerals ?

I also have inherited mineral rights in Wyoming. Have you found any information on what is the best way to use your rights? My brother doen't like this idea because he thinks they buy up leases and then there way we know if there is any drilling.
