Default Weekend trip to Cheyenne

My boyfriend and I are coming to Cheyenne for the weekend, and I was wondering if you could recommend things to do? Good off-the-beaten path places to eat, fun things to do during the day, fun nightlife activities, etc... We're pretty much game for anything, neither one of u have been there before, so we're clueless as to what to do. Thanks all!

Well, I don't live in Cheyenne, but I can tell you about a few of the things I've done there. Lions Park has the Cheyenne Botanic Garden, which I think is a neat place to see. Here's some info:

If you like trains, there are a couple steam locomotives on display in Cheyenne, as well as a museum in the Cheyenne Depot. Here's some info about them:

Finally, here's a link to other things to do in Cheyenne:

If you like shopping, Cheyenne has a lot of western art and clothing stores. They can be found on the shopping link at the site listed above.
A Dining and nightlife link can be found at that site, too.

- The trolley tour from the depot is fun for first-timers.
- stroll around the capital building and governor's mansion
- lunch at the depot
- visit the botanical gardens
- visit the Terry Bison Ranch

The websites listed above are a good source too.

There is a great little mexican place, totally authentic, with the best tamales I've ever had. Tortilla Factory is on South Greeley Highway across from the Safeway, parking is in back. It's in the part of Cheyenne south of I-80, just ask someone they'll be able to tell you where it is. Also, the burger joint off of the same road north of I-80, it changed names and I can't think what they call it now, but it's a drive up or walk up place there's no seating inside. It has the best greasy chili burgers, nice and spicy.
For a good breakfast where the locals go the Luxury diner is good. They have pancakes the size of the plate and they are so good. Their breakfast burritos are awesome too.
