Default Name your favorite towns

Sheridan:
My family lived here for about ten years before I was born, and we went back to visit when I was a youngster. I just remember how green the surrounding countryside was (compared to my home in Riverton), and how tranquil and stately the town felt. Everything had a very elegant, old-world vibe.

Jackson:
Yes, it's over-priced, maybe a little pretentious, and swarming with picture-taking tourists, but you cannot deny the town's stunning beauty and proximity to some of the most breathtaking terrain in the US.

Lander:
This was the next town over for my family, and we often used it as a base for excursions in the Wind Rivers. We were always taken how this town is the complete opposite of sun-baked, hard-edged Riverton. Lander has a certain style about it with its bronze statues everywhere and fantastic views of the Wind River foothills.

Laramie:
Home to the University of Wyoming (and my potential future home), Laramie is a little quirky, definitely a college town, but still very Wyoming. One thing that makes Laramie unique is its high elevation (7,200) which makes for cold winters, and perfect summers. Proximity to the stunning Snowy Range is also a plus.

Name yours!

I'd have to say Story, nestled up against mountains but still close to Sheridan for work or shopping.

I agree that Jackson's a cool town. Not do-able, but cool nonetheless. Dubois is a good town. Buffalo as well.

I'd have to say Story as well. It is a lovely town, beautiful scenery. I also love Sheridan, beautiful town also. Newcastle isn't so bad, but I think Sundance is lovely in a quaint way. I love Casper also...it is clean and though it is a 'town' in comparison to big cities (of which I have lived in) it still allows some anonymity. That and the location is perfect, midst the Historic Trails (I am becoming redundant ) and close to any number of things.
Jackson is a lovely place, but alas, only to visit, not to live in.
