reliance isnt so much a town as a cluster of old company houses clustered together just past rocksprings.rock springs also has a lot of very old small former 'company' houses.granger and superior are mostly made up of small, old, former company houses that are out in the middle of nowhere, about 35 miles from rocksprings and generally a little cheaper, but not much available.i like farson/eden to the north myself which is basically a bunch of houses on small acreages spread out in the middle of nowhere but stuff there has gotten kind of pricey.i agree with pskokustomz about the bridger valley being very attractive, but not real close or cheap

Depend in on how far you want to commute you have a really little town east of RS called Superior its about 32 miles away. To the east you have the "valley" which is the Lyman, Mountain View, Fort Bridger area. This is by far my favorite area within commuting distance of RS. Its about 60 miles away, so it might be a little far. If you have any other questions feel free to ask I lived down there for about 16 years and my parent and little bro are still there.

you better do your homework before buying land east of rock springs,a lot of it is zoned 'open range' and basically cant be built on.check with sweetwater county before buying any red desert land to be sure you can use it for the purpose you intend, and be careful not to pay too much...a lot of people have bought stuff cheap and then tried to make a big return by selling it on ebay to out of staters for much more than its worth.goodluck

novice1, be sure you know what you are buying ! As inbobbbb has said some of that land is cheep and there is a reason for that. If you have the money however, (meaning you don't have strong feelings about loosing too much )and just want a piece of wyoming land , it might be worth it.
