Default Family moving to Wyoming

My family, which includes my husband and two small children, are moving to Wyoming at the end of next month. My husband just got a job in Gillette. We don't have a place yet. We are going to stay with my mom for a while until we find a place. She lives about 20 miles south of Moorcroft. I was wondering if anyone new of any places to rent around Moorcroft or Gillette. We are looking for a 3 bedroom home.

Have you tried the Moorcroft Newspaper online? Usually each town will have a newspaper and classifieds, I am not sure the website, but I would try a google search.

Another option is going to craigslist, sometimes you can find rentals there.. but usually only a few are posted...

Best of luck to you..

gosh, unfortunately the housing market is harsh right now up there....you may want to consider purchasing a travel trailer to live in until you can either 1) buy a house or 2) buy land and build....rentals are few and far between. Not trying to be a "meaner" (that's my daughter's word...she loves the movie Barnyard), but just trying to be realistic.

Good luck! Welcome to Wyoming

It is a really difficult area to find housing - but are several small towns that might have something until you find something more permanent - Rozet, Upton, Moocroft, even Sundance although is a little bit of a drive & I'm not sure how often I-90 closes. Unfortunately all of Wyo has housing issues...might even try Douglas - about an hour drive but there are quite a few ppl who commute from Douglas to Gillette...

Welcome to Gillette!

(Sorry about the traffic/construction on Highway 59 - I'm sure it'll get better soon and be much improved because of it... I just spent way too much time this afternoon trying to get through to bring a birthday present to a friend. Very crazy.)

You'll have to check out Dalbey Park. They have great blue herons there you might see as you stroll around the lake. And a playground for the children. And a fishing pier. Great spot for a picnic too.

Good luck on finding a rental. It's nice you can stay with your mom (and nice to be close to mom!) for awhile while you look for something.
