The Nws Storm Prediction Center Has Issued A Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Portions Of
Parts Of Southeast Montana Small Part Of Southwest North Dakota Parts Of Northwest South Dakota Parts Of Northern Wyoming
Effective This Friday Afternoon And Evening From 135 PM Until 900 PM MDT.
Hail To 3 Inches In Diameter... Thunderstorm Wind Gusts To 80 Mph... And Dangerous Lightning Are Possible In These Areas.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch Area Is Approximately Along And 90 Statute Miles North And South Of A Line From 45 Miles North Of Cody Wyoming To 25 Miles East Of Buffalo South Dakota. For A Complete Depiction Of The Watch See The Associated Watch Outline Update (wous64 Kwns Wou9).
Remember... A Severe Thunderstorm Watch Means Conditions Are Favorable For Severe Thunderstorms In And Close To The Watch Area. With 35-40kt Of Shear And Mlcapes To 2000 J/Kg Along With Steep Lapse Rates Supercells Are Possible By Later This Afternoon Developing Ewd Across The Watch Area. Primary Threat With Supercells Will Be Very Large Hail And Damaging Winds. There Is A Possibility Of A Brief Tornado Or Two.
