my husband is waiting on final word to work as a driver in oil fields, can anyone tell me, does anyone rent to people with pets there? i am upset to see all the rental ads to say that there are no pets allowed. i can understand but what about those people who are responsible pet owners with good refernces. how is the weather in the winter there? any insight would be great. thanks.

Well because of jobs such as your husband's and the energy job boom in many areas of Wyoming there has been a shortage in several towns, but not all Wyoming communities. It is not a "renters" market right now. So property managers and landlords have a lot more leeway in regulating what kind of renters they want. Same thing with price right now...

Sadly a lot of people moving here for work have had to take their animals to shelters or give them up to other families...

A lot of people have moved into communities on a temporary basis for work... since this country's economy is down the tubes in some states... so they need a place to stay/aka rent... which makes it harder for the locals to find rentals...

A lot of people have been having to buy to find a place to live... which can be hard also in boom towns cause to prices of homes... it has started to soften a little, but only a little and will be gradual not over night.

We had the same problem with the pet situation. We have a dog and found it almost impossible to find a rental. We did find awesome landlords who were sympathetic to our situation. Dont give up hope if you dont find anything right away. If it is meant to be you will find the right house for you and your pet! Also, it is really cold some days but the sun shines so much that it is not dreary. I have been out walking the path everyday this week and it has been beautiful weather.

I would contact the worland paper and take out a small add looking for a rental that would fit your needs. You may find a place on the outskirts of town or strike out-as for worland, it sits in the bighorn basin, weather is probably as cold as anywhere in wyo, but not as much snow-very close to a lot of scenic areas of the state, all almost a day trip-cody,yellowstone,cody,red lodge mt.-not to leave out tensleep, thermop, buffalo, sheridan etc. did I MENTION CODY TAKES MORE THAN A DAY TO SEE ALL THE SITES. ENJOY-THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT ALSO.
