When we lived there I was a hairdresser and I think every other student that sat in my chair was an engineering student and it was known that they do have an excellent engineering program. I don't know where you're coming from but be aware that Laramie is one of the most windy places in the state. Also winter lasts the entire school year. Seriously. It's a good idea to live within walking distance of campus or have a 4 wheel drive since Laramie does not plow side streets, at all. My husband just went through yesterday and there's 2 feet of snow in the parks and the streets are a mess, of course. Laramie is a great place I'm not dogging it, you should just be aware of the weather. We moved when it snowed a foot in July and was 30 degrees for a week, in 1998. That was just too much for me

) There is a super walmart and other known fast food joints. Make sure you check out El Conquistador downtown on Ivinson if you visit, best mexican food anywhere I promise you won't be sorry. It's only about 45 minutes if the roads are clear to Cheyenne and they have tons of shopping, you can also take 287 down to Ft. Collins Colorado it's about an 1 1/2 drive, but be careful and watch the other traffic. It's a beautiful drive (make sure you honk three times when coming and going when you pass the white church just into Colorado a ways, locals superstition you can never be too safe on 287) you just have to watch everyone else they will pass on hills and curves where they can't see you coming. And no I'm not that superstitous but I did it every day when I was working in Ft. Collins and living out by Tie Siding, it's better to be safe...
