Our crew did I-90 from Sturgis to the Montana state line also. Then Uncle Sam knocked on my door and made me a Swabby.

Wyoming is a great state to live in. It's a little secret that not the whole nation knows about. Thank goodness. When I was younger I use to think who in the world would want to live in Wyoming. Boy I didn't know what I was missing. I should have moved here long ago.
My husband and I moved here March 2007. We moved to Buffalo. We use to vacation here. When we decided to move here I was not scared at all. I knew this was the place for us. And I was right.
Most people are very friendly and helpful.
I can't give you any advice about Casper. But the state in general is great. If you like spending time outdoors you will find plenty to do.
As for the winter months, you adapt. It's really not that bad.

We have been looking into the Laramie and Casper areas, and have three children 4, 3 and 1. We are go to church almost every Sunday and want to find someplace where we can make friends, but not feel like outsiders. We love the outdoors and want someplace that is affordable, but in a decent community because of our children. We are friendly people and want to stay someplace where we can feel comfortable, because we don't want to move anymore.
What things should we be nervous about, or should we truly be nervous at all? Thanks.

nervousness in moving
Moving is a challage no matter where you go. We visited Casper and Laramie, both nice, but neither for us. Laramie is a small college town, nice, but just wasn't what we were looking for, Casper has some real beautiful views of the mountains, we met a lot of nice people, but we met a lot of rude people, but that is anywhere. I liked Casper, except for the interstate going right thru town, to me it made it to congested. We moved to Cheyenne, 90 percent of the people were very, very friendly. Cheyenne is really great, even with the strong winds. We only lived there for two yeard, but we're heading back next summer, we came home to be close to my daughter, and we lost her this pass year. I was born and raised in a big city, love alot about it here, but Cheyenne and Wyoming is really beautiful and a great place to be. Can't wait to get back to beautiful Wyoming.

rusticacpache - I'm sorry to read that you lost your daughter.
BABsMom - FWIW - we just moved to Laramie last week (DH is going to law school) and we're very happy here so far. Our neighbors have been very friendly and I'm looking forward to getting to know them over the next 3 years.
I've heard rumors about the loud cars but I haven't heard any yet.
We live in the north end of town, BTW.
