I have a few, none digitized, sorry.
Check it out on Google earth.......give you a fair idea.
At the cross road of the N. Platte River and Deer Creek.
Sand Hills and Sage up to the north out of the river valley.
Mountains and trees to the south in the Deer Creek Range.
20 miles from a dinner and movie in Casper.
25 miles from the State Fair in Douglas.

Looks like a river flowing through there? Big? Small?

The river I know is in Nevada. Not sure if that helps?

When I was a child, it looked like the whole ocean was in front of me.
Now that I am well seasoned and have seen the Missouri River, the North Platte is much smaller. Not sure that helps either.
All matters of perspective.
You could try the www.USGS.gov site and see if you can find flow rates, peaks and such.

What is your perspective? Can you boat on the Platte? No. There are a few short areas where there is enough water to boat, but not many. Can you canoe on the Platte? Sure. Can you tube, fish, swim on the Platte? You betcha.

Yep, Many Pioneers noted the Platte was too thick to drink, too thin to plow........swimming "on" the river is a good bet at certain times of the year!
